Common issues

Widget not updating

iOS controls when widgets refresh. If your widget looks stale:

Make sure you've opened the Quotator app at least once.
Check that you have at least one quote enabled (swipe right on quotes to enable them).
Remove the widget from your home screen and re-add it.
If the category filter is set to a specific category, confirm that category has enabled quotes.

iCloud backup not working

iCloud backup requires iCloud Drive to be enabled. Go to iPhone Settings → [your name] → iCloud and make sure iCloud Drive is on. iCloud backup does not work on the iOS Simulator — it requires a real iPhone.

App shows "Cannot connect to iCloud"

This usually means iCloud Drive is off or you're not signed in to iCloud. Check Settings → [your name] on your iPhone.

Widget shows wrong category after switching Focus mode

Changes to Focus filters may take a moment to propagate. If the widget doesn't update after a few minutes, remove and re-add it.

Imported CSV doesn't show some quotes

Quotator skips duplicate quotes during a Merge import (same text already exists in your library). If you want to import regardless, use Replace All — but be sure to create a backup first.
