Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 2026

Quotator ("the App," "we," "us") is developed and operated by Robert Murdock. This Privacy Policy describes how we handle information in connection with your use of the App.

The short version: Quotator collects no personal data. Everything stays on your device.

Information we collect

We do not collect, transmit, or store any information about you or your use of the App. Specifically:

Local data storage

All quotes, categories, and settings you create in the App are stored locally on your device in a shared app container. This container is accessible only to the Quotator app and its home screen widget. Data is never sent to our servers because we have no servers.

iCloud backup (optional)

The App includes an optional iCloud backup feature. If you use it, your quotes, categories, and settings are saved as a file in your personal iCloud Drive account under iCloud Drive → Quotator → Backups.

No account required

The App does not require or support creating an account. There is no sign-in, no registration, and no user profile of any kind.

Children's privacy

We do not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Since we collect no data from any user of any age, the App is safe for use by children subject to their parent's or guardian's judgment.

Third-party services

The App does not integrate with any third-party services, advertising networks, social platforms, or analytics providers. The only external service optionally involved is Apple's iCloud, described above.

App Store and Apple

When you download the App from the App Store, Apple may collect standard download and purchase information as described in Apple's privacy policy. We receive only the aggregate, anonymized data that Apple provides to all developers in App Store Connect (total downloads, ratings, etc.). We do not receive any personally identifiable information from Apple about individual users.

Changes to this policy

If we update this Privacy Policy, we will post the revised version on this page and update the "Last updated" date above. Because we collect no data, substantive changes to this policy would only occur if we were to introduce data collection features in the future — which we would communicate clearly before doing so.
